Trinity
John William Dickey Sr., 83, of 5825 Mendenhall Road died at 6:28 a.m. Jan. 17, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital after a short illness.
He was born May 18, 1917, in Boston, Mass., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dickey. He was a resident of Trinity since 1954. He retired from Womack Radio Supply as manager. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was an avid photographer. He was a member of Gospel Baptist Church and Sunday school. In 1979 he was married to Lorena Fowler, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are a son, John William Dickey Jr. of Browns Summit; and two grandchildren, Juliet Dickey and John William Dickey III.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Bobby G. Edwards and the Rev. Grayson A. King. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
