Margaret (Hayes) Marr went to Gettysburg PA. along with a carpet bag and few cents- by railroad , buckboard and walked, to help nurse the soldiers, She recieved a citation from Abraham Lincoln.

"Mrs. Marr, widow of the late Patrick Marr has sold her farm to John Crimmins for $700." Page 3, Argus & Patriot, Montpelier, Vermont, Thursday, April 6, 1876.
