Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund E. Olson will officiate and burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Berg was born May 17, 1897, in the town of Manitowoc, son of the late Knute
and Engeborg Alfstad Berg. He grew up and attended school in the Town of Liberty, moving to Manitowoc as a young man, residing here since. He married Edna E. Groll June 20, 1925 at Manitowoc. Mr. Berg was a carpenter all his life, working for Hamann construction Company for many years, retiring in 1967. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carpenters Union Local 849 and Manitowoc Eagles Aerie 706.
Survivors include his wife, Edna, four sisters, Mrs. Christine McGarvie of Downers
Grove, Ill., Mrs. Enanda Sampe of Manitowoc, Mrs. Ruth Johnston of Valders and Mrs. Marie Dedering of Kiel; a brother-in-law, Roland Wendling of Kiel; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Berg of West Bend and Mrs. Emma Berg of the Town of Liberty and nieces and nephews. Three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, State Street Chapel, 4 p.m.
to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from noon Wednesday until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
