Services for Blanche Hendrix Farrar Young will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel with Rev. H.L. Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery, Haughton, LA. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.

Mrs. Young was born October 2, 1920 in Rayville, LA to Martin and Samantha (Bennett) Hendrix and died October 31, 2011 in Rayville, LA. She was of the Pentecostal faith, a retired meat wrapper in the grocery industry, and she was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union.

Her first husband, G.E. Farrar; sons, J.M. "Freck" Farrar, Sr., Ralph "Pete" Farrar, Sr.; second husband, H.W. Young; one sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

She is survived by her grandchildren, James Farrar and wife Cathy, Terri Farrar and partner Holly, Carol Farrar and son James, III, Karen Johnson and husband Roy, Lynne Romain and husband Heath, Terrell Farrar, Russ Farrar and wife Renee, Molly Usery and husband Tom, Wesley Rogers and wife Kim, Scotia Moss and husband Kevin; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandson and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Pete Farrar of Gilliam, LA.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Leonard Spencer, Len Spencer, Phil Roark, Elton Farrar, Dub Hendrix and Victor Carson. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Spencer, Ben Roark and Dr. Albert Kerr.

Special thanks to Richland Hospice, her family at Rayville Guest, and her nephew, Ben Roark.
