Karen Marie Hendrix, 70, of Rochester, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at her daughter's home in Rochester.
Karen Marie Ferguson was born June 3, 1941, in Chatfield, to Raymond and Eleanor (Eddy) Ferguson. She attended Chatfield High School through 10th grade. She married Thomas Jeter in 1959; they later divorced. In 1979 she married Omer Hendrix. She lived in Chatfield until 1959, when she moved to Florida. In 1973 she moved to Rochester until the present. Karen was a waitress and worked in several cafes, most recently at Max's Cafe in Rochester. She enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing and bowling, and loved her dog, "Baby Bear." She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester.
She is survived by her husband, Omer Hendrix of Rochester; four children, Thomas Jeter of Rochester, Debbie Scott of Rochester, Jackie Jeter of Rochester and Michael Jeter of Oronoco; three step-children, Crystal Hendrix of Shakopee, Jeff Hendrix of Rochester and Lori Hendrix of Chester; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald Ferguson of St. Paul; and two sisters, Marla Rae (Jerome) Finley of Chatfield and Mert (Donald) Bakken of Stewartville. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Arlene.
