Wife of Amos J. Lightner; mother of Florence E. Lightner; daughter of Susannah Jane (Norris) and Ferdinand Haines; adopted daughter of Samuel Lamberd.

The following documentation was kindly provided by contributor 47221984 in support of above parentage:

Emma Frances and Martha Alice were children of Susannah J. Norris' first husband Ferdinand Haines. Samuel Lamberd probably adopted them both since they were so young, and Samuel and Susanna married soon after their spouses both passed away. (Their christening records in 1862 refer to them as children of Samuel and Susanna Lambert. They are referred to in the 1870 census as Emma and Martha Lamberd.)

See Carroll Co., Maryland Probate:
[3, p. 213, 12 Oct 1863] 26 Mar 1862 Reuben Haines: son-in-law David Cassell, executor. Widow Sarah Ann. Deceased son Ferdinand’s children: Emma & Alice Haines. Daughters Margaret Ann Stoner, Sophia Shafer, Fanny Cassell, Sarah Ann Diehl, Mary Catharine Haines. Sons Singleton Haines, Charles Henry Haines, John Thomas Haines, and Jesse Lee Haines.
