In memory of Mary Ann, wife of Saml. Lamberd, Died 24th Jan. 1856 in her 25th year.
She faded like a flower from earth,
On angels wings she went above
And blooms in her immortal birth,
In yonder land of light and love.
Dear companion thou hast left me,
I thy loss most deeply feel,
But 'tis God who has bereft me,
He can all my sorrows heal.
But again I hope to meet thee
When my days of life are fled,
Then with joy in heaven I'll greet thee
Where no farewell tears are shed"
