Private graveside services will be at Mount Hope Cemetery for Joseph C. Jones, 48, Eugene, Ore., a former Topekan, who died Friday at his home. He had multiple sclerosis. He was born March 29, 1924 at Wamego and attended Seaman Rural High School while in Topeka. He lived in Oregon since 1951.

He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and later was in logging and construction businesses.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Edna R. Jones, Topeka; his father, Charles F. Jones, Hoyt; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ruth Bateman and Mrs. Lyn Roose, both of Topeka; and 2 brothers, Edwin L. Jones, Topeka, and Dean F. Jones, Dallas.

Memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
