Laurine Glenda Peabbles-Eliza Lovejoy, 51, passed away October 7, 2011 with her family at her side after a nine month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Portland, Maine, July 16, 1960, and is the loving daughter of Lawrence and Betty Peabbles. She was known as Lollipop to her parents.

She was predeceased by a brother, Larry Peabbles and a nephew, Elijah Peabbles. She is survived by her parents of Westbrook; two daughters, Carrie Kennard, whom she called Sunshine, and Bella Lovejoy, whom she called Sidekick. She leaves behind two grandchildren, Antonio and Virgil Grant. She is also survived by two sisters, Jewel Peabbles and Yvonne Peabbles; nieces, Gina Klenda and Jessica Peabbles; several nephews, including Preston Peabbles, Julian Klenda and Jeremiah Klenda; and extended family including aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves behind her loving pet, a little dog named Honey.

She was a spiritual person with a great faith in God. Her children were her top priorities and her life was centered around them. She was a spirited woman who pursued life with great determination.

She started a gymnastic business called Starnastics for young toddlers. She found great satisfaction and joy working with the toddlers. She was a personal trainer and managed Lady of America. Her hobbies included baking cakes, Zumba, dancing, swimming, and took pride in health and fitness.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, at the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, Maine. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Bill Stanley at the Cape Elizabeth Church of the Nazarene, 499 Old Ocean House Road, Cape Elizabeth. Interment will follow at Seaside Cemetery, Cape Elizabeth.
