Martha Ann Eliza Worsham was the oldest daughter and second child of 15 born to William Odell Worsham and Sarah Rodgers Worsham. After living in NC for some years, she and John Wesley Wardrup moved first to Texas, and then to Ogden, Utah, where Martha ran a boarding house for years. She died in Laramie, Wyoming at the home of her granddaughter, Mildred Jewel. Martha's descendants are scattered throughout the western states.

Martha Ann lost several infants: Mary Caldona 1876, Ethel 1885, Thomas Avery 1887, Joseph Edward 1903. They are believed to be buried in NC, probably in old Bluff Cemetery.

She also had daughters: Laura Adeline Wardrup Treadway Kelly 1878-1969, died in San Bernardino, CA, burial unknown, Maybelle Wardrup Hallford 1879-1981,died in San Bernardino, burial unknown.

Ogden Resident Dies Here At 78

Mrs. Wardrup Expires after Coming to Granddaughter’s Home to Regain Health

Mrs. John Wardrup of Ogden, Utah who came here two weeks ago to visit relatives and regain her health, died last night in the Invinson hospital. She was 78 years old. Funeral services will be held at the Stryker mortuary Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, with the Rev. W. J. Dingelman of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Wardrup had been ill a short time in Ogden before she decided to come to Laramie to visit at the home of her granddaughter Mrs. Mildred Howard 151 North Sixth street. Her condition became worse, however, and she was removed to the hospital Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The end came last night an hour before midnight.

She was born in North Carolina April 3, 1858. Survivors include her husband, who came last night from Ogden; a son Ervin Sanders Wardrup of Laramie; five daughters, Mrs. James M. Treadway of Ogden, Mrs. William Kelly of Gallup, N. M.; Mrs. Myrtle Wardrup Schwartz and Mrs. May Wardrup Hallford, both of San Bernardino, Calif., and Mrs. Sally Wardrup Pool, who lives in Idaho. There are also several grand-children.
