John "Jake" Pricer, Jr.
John "Jake" Pricer, Jr., 81, of Enid, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid. Services will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Tuesday at 2 p.m. under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Pricer was born in Perry on July 2, 1922 to Cora (Kasl) and John L. Pricer. He married Bertha Davis in June 1961 in Stillwater. They later divorced.

He attended school in Perry until the seventh grade, when he began working as a carpenter with his father.

In 1940, he enlisted in the National Guard and in 1941 his battalion was placed on active duty serving in World War II and Korea.

He spent many years with the 45th Battalion where he served for 39 years.

While in the service, he received the Bronze Star and numerous other medals.

After retiring from the military, he continued to do carpentry work as a finish carpenter. He did a lot of cabinet and finish work in the Stillwater area. He
loved to fish, camp and enjoyed the time he spent with his family.

He was a member of the Christian Church and the National Guard.

He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers; eight sisters; and one step-son.

He is survived by seven children, John Edwin Pricer of Perkins, Anita Sue Davis of Enid, Jimmie D, Cooper and his wife, Cynthia, of Carney, Mary Beth Mellor and her husband, Larry, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Theresa Martin of Cushing, Shirley Jean Hall and her husband, James, of Choctaw and Carole A. Goforth and her husband, Jim, of Perkins; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one
sister, Norma Stanford of Stillwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Note: He is buried next to his brother, Delmar.
