BILLINGS, Mont. - Carol Jane Bayman, 72, Billings, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, due to long illness, at Billings St. V's.
She was born May 17, 1939, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Clarence Haskell and Winnifred Hickel. Later, she and her family moved to Rapid City, S.D. Carol obtained all for her education in Rapid City.
In the spring of 1955, Carol met Gordon Bayman. It was love at first sight. They were married May 5, 1956.
In 1965, Carol and Gordon, with their children, Rodney and Janet, moved to Billings. Carol was employed with Mills Drug in Rapid City, and K-Mart and Pittsburgh Paints in Billings.
Carol loved life and many things around her. She loved flowers and had the most beautiful flower garden. She would love to go antique shopping, Fenton Glass collecting.
There were many important things in her life, such as her family, grandkids, great-grandkids and holidays, but most of all - fishing. She loved to go fishing with her husband, family, and two very special friends, George and Peggy Hoffman.
As a hubby and a fishing guide for my wife, we would spend a lot of time on the lakes of Montana and Canada. She would out-fish me all the time, so I would tell her I can't be a good guide and a fisherman, too.
Pretty good excuse, don't you think? Honey, give Janet a big hug for me when you get to Heaven and when I am ready, I will bring the Lund boat and your Diawa line counter reel and your favorite rod. I love you and will meet you in Heaven. –Your Hubby.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Bayman; her son, Rodney (Tamara) Bayman and grandsons, Dustin Bayman, Matthew Bayman and Bradley Herman; two sisters, Lois Fisher and Dolly Rhodes; a brother, Roland Haskell; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Janet Bayman; brother, Gene Wasson; sisters-in law, Ada Wasson and Leona Haskell; and brothers-in-law, Owen Fisher and Lawrence Taylor.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at Smith Downtown Chapel. Interment will follow at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.
