Paul Henry Holder, 50, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 suddenly with his wife at his side. He was born on February 19, 1961, in Frederick, MD and was the son of the late James Edward Holder and Mary Pauline "Polly" Hope Holder of Brunswick, MD.

He attended all schools in Brunswick and graduated Brunswick High in 1979. As a young youth, he served at his favorite job as a volunteer firefighter for Brunswick. He attended the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia. He worked as a laborer on the B & O Railroad. In 1983, he joined the United States Navy. He served for 20 years as an Independent Duty Corpsmen traveling the world serving both his Navy and Marine brothers and sisters. His favorite duty station was in Antartica where he served with his best buddy Douglas Odegard, of Minnesota. He retired from the Navy from Camp Leujeunne, NC in 2003.

He was a member of the L.O.O.M. Lodge #1582, the F.O. E. Aerie #1136, The V.F.W Memorial Post #3522 of Charles Town, and his beloved Steadman-Keenan American Legion Post # 96 in Brunswick.

Paul was an avid Philadelphia sports enthusiast. He was devastated that the Philadelphia Phillies did not make it to the World Series this year. One of his last happy times was when his good friend Jerry Higgins and his wife watched them win the sixth game against the Cardinals. He also enjoyed his Philadelphia Eagles and died with his Philadelphia Flyers hat on.

His marriages to Laurie Lucey and Donna Crimmins ended in divorce.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara Anne and his mother Mary Pauline "Polly" Holder. He leaves behind a son, from his first marriage, Sean Christian Holder Callahan of Purcellville, VA, a daughter, from his second marriage, Pollykate Holder of Wilmington, N.C. He was predeceased in death by his son Chadrick Ray Hinton. He also leaves behind beloved stepdaughters Kellianne Meder and Jaime Bendig; grandsons Sean Patrick Meder and Matthew Donovan, all of Philadelphia; sisters in law Sharon Holder, of Frederick; Susan Hobson, of Sarasota, Florida and Patricia Williams, of Philadelphia; brother-in-law Paul C. Hobson, of Sarasota; Uncle Sam Hughes and his daughter Kelley Ann Hughes Foulger; Special friends Jesse, Pam, ‘lil Jesse, Jordan Lee, Tristan, Chad and entire Ault family, of Brunswick; Ed Galvin, of Seattle; Douglas Odeggard, of Minnesota; Jerry Higgins, of Philadelphia; and Joe Wiles, of Brunswick.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Holder, his infant brother Rodney Eric Holder; his brother, James Holder, II, his grandparents Kate and Henry Holder and maternal grandparents Margaret and Paul Hope; and special friends, Tracey Leigh Hughes and Jeffrey Stack.
