Ella Bess Tucker, 90, of Brian Center Nursing Home in Low Moor, died there Tuesday.
She was born August 20, 1902 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Hepler Bess.
Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, Estel B. Tucker, in 1964; two daughters, Helen Wright and Mary Tucker, two sons, Benny Tucker and Everette Tucker; four sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Samantha) Wright of Covington, Mrs. Clara Wolfe of Richmond, Mrs. Daniel (Myrtle) Hepler of Route 4, Covington, and Mrs. Junior (Reba) Caldwell of Low Moor; five sons, Joseph Tucker of Covington, Cyrus "Jack" Tucker, Leonard Tucker and Danny Tucker, all of Route 4, Covington, and Lonnie Ray Tucker of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Pierce of Covington and Mrs. Ida Arthur of Route 4, Covington; three brothers, Stanley Bess and Floyd Bess, both of Covington, and Lewis Bess of Seattle, Wash; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. J. B. Broughman officiating.
Interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
