Bio: Louise Lindsey King, age 87 of Stevenson, died peacefully in her sleep June 6, 2012 at her home.
Helen Louise was the daughter of the late James Simion and Frances Elizabeth Howse Lindsey, born June 7, 1924 in Huntsville. She was a retired sixth grade teacher having taught at Stevenson and North Sand Mountain schools. Mrs. King was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Alice Sanders Book Club, OAW, Friends of the Library and Jackson County Teachers Association.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Edwin King; and son Col. Harold E. King, Jr.
Survivors include her son, William Steven (Kathy) King of Blue Ridge, Ga., and James Robert King of Stevenson; grandchildren, Scott Edwin King of N.C., Amy Elizabeth Hess of Washington D.C., Katie Anne King of Yorktown, Va., Kimberly Ann Cook of Cleveland, Tenn., and Steven Lewis King and Shanna King both of Blue Ridge, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Gavin Dakota King and Jonathan Cook; and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson. The funeral service will be Sunday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Gary Tubb followed by interment at the Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
