10/2/16 - 10/31/11
Claire passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 31.
She enjoyed a long, healthy life and was proud to live independently in her home until shortly before she passed.
Claire was born in San Francisco on October 2, 1916.
She grew up in the Mission and attended Commerce High School to focus on business.
She then went to work for Baker & Hamilton as a bookkeeper. She worked there for her entire career, which spanned almost forty years.
In 1940 she married Robert Rogers and had two children. Together they enjoyed traveling, spending time with their family, and most of all, time at their home on the Russian River. After retirement, they moved to Novato in 1979.
Bob passed away in 1988 and Claire continued to travel with her family.
Claire enjoyed reading and listening to music. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Claire was remarkable in that she was always present for everyone's special moments; she never missed an event. Ever thoughtful, she would always send cards for everyone's special occasions and would always call to give her best wishes.
Claire is survived by her daughter Barbara (Vincent) La Barbara, her son Michael (Katie) Rogers, her granddaughters Andrea (Paul) Bishop, Allyson (Alexis) Bondaz, Jennifer (Scott) Indermuehle, her grandson Kevin Rogers, and four great-grandchildren, Lauren & Ian Indermuehle and Benjamin & Nicholas Bishop.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation to be held on Thursday, November 3rd from 5 pm to 8 pm at Keaton's Redwood Chapel (1801 Novato Blvd, Novato).
A funeral mass on Friday, November 4th at 11 am at Saint Anthony of Padua (1000 Cambridge St, Novato).
Committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
