Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Mankato with Fr. John Kunz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4 from 4-7 p.m. at Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Irene was born May 22, 1923, to Anna Petrik and Joseph Goettlicher, the 7th of 8 children. Irene graduated from Mankato High School in 1941. The Lord blessed her with two loving children and later a caring son-in-law. Irene lived and loved life as a true Gemini, enjoying bowling, dancing, flowers, music and travel. She played the accordion, glockenspiel, keyboard, piano and trombone. During her working career, she was on the payroll of 39 businesses and organizations as accountant, private secretary, office manager, assistant manager and secretary-treasurer. Irene temporarily had a business venture as public stenographer and notary. Irene's greatest pleasure was time spent with her family.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Lesley (Eduard); one brother, Gene (Ozelle); and a large extended family.
Irene was preceded in death by her son: Robert; parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
