Claude R. Stahl, 82, of Williamstown passed away Sunday night at Harrisburg Hospital.

Born in Clarks Valley, October 28, 1928 a son of the late Hilbert and Margaret Hossler Stahl.

Claude was a 1947 graduate of the former Porter Tower High School. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the IUOE. He was a member of the Liberty Hose Company #1, Williamstown where he served with the fire police for many years. He was a social member of the Williamstown American Legion. He was also a member of the former Williamstown Swimming Pool Committee. He also served as a master with the Williamstown Cub Scouts. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by a sister Faye Leitzel; two brothers, John and Russell Stahl.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Joan G. Seitz Stahl; one son, Michael R. Stahl and his wife Deborah, Rockville, MD; two granddaughters, Josephine and Natalie Stahl. three sisters, Grace Gaffney, Williamstown; June Sturm, Halifax and Mary Lou Shutt, Harrisburg; one brother, Benjamin Stahl, Clarks Valley. Nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, October 14th at 11:00 am from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown. Following services a dinner will be held in the church social hall. Memorial donations in Claude's name should be made to Liberty Hose Company #1, W. Broad Street, Williamstown PA 17098.
