She was born June 16, 1914, in Vina, Ala., to George and Artive Mitchell Emerson. She was a factory worker with General Bindings in Illinois and a member of Single Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Berton Nichols; her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Freewill Baptist Church, Red Bay, Ala.
Officiating will be Brother Tom Scott and Brother Clint Holcomb. Burial will be in Single Springs Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, is directing.
* There was one other son who passed away June 24, 2018. His name was James Delmer Nichols. He was born November 26, 1934.
