He was born on April 11, 1906 in Orbisonia, the son of Jackson D. and Lillian (Conner) Rogers. He was united in marriage first to Pauline Bard, then to Isabel Wible on March 9, 1936. His wife survived of HCR, Orbisonia.
Mr. Rogers is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Delores) Kuny, Altoona, and two sons; Bradley, HCR 71, Orbisonia, and Robert, Chambersburg. He is also survived by a niece raised in his home, Mrs. George (Reba) Stuller. There are also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is survived also by one brother, Russell Rogers, Monroeville, and two sisters: Mrs. Mabel Rush, Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Hazel Reynolds, Midland, Tex. Two brothers preceded him in death.
A member of the Protestant faith, he was employed as a freight conductor on the Pennsylvania and Lake Erie Railroad from 1928 until his retirement in 1971. He was associated with the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, McKees Rocks.
Private funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 3 from the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, the Rev. David Sharpless officiating. Interment will be made in the Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirelysburg, R.D.
There will be no public viewing.
