Death Claims R. H. Wilson

HAD FARMED NORTHWEST OF BLAIR, LATER RETIRED TO HOME HERE

Robert Henry Wilson, 86, farmer northwest of Blair for more than a quarter of a century and a resident of Blair since 1916, died at Blair Hospital on Monday. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, who congregation he had served as a deacon for many years. The Rev. D. D. Kennedy, will officiate, with interment at Blair Cemetery.

Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Born Nov. 25, 1858, at Edgewood, Ill., Mr. Wilson spent his boyhood and early manhood on Illinois farms. He came to Washington County in 1881, farming for six years in partnership with his brother, William.

He was married to Julia Hook on Sept. 21, 1887. The couple farmed northwest of Blair until their retirement to Blair in 1916, since then they have made their home at 409 West Street.

Always active in community life until his age made civic work impossible, Mr. Wilson served on the school board for more than 20 years. He was active, also, in church affairs.

Survivors include the widow and their one son, Glen Wilson of Blair; a grandson, Raymond Wilson; two brothers, Frank V. Wilson of Blair and Charles of Edgewood, Ill.; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Spurlin of Edgewood, Ill.
