Clyde E. Partington, 423 1/2 Wet Howry Avenue, DeLand, Fla., died last Wednesday at DeLand following a sudden illness.
Born in Streling on February 22, 1901, Partington had lived here most of his life. He operated the Ace Cleaners here before retiring and moving to Florida five years ago.
While living in Sterling he was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge, the United Methodist Church, and a charter member of the Steerling Lyons Club.
Survivors include the widow, Alice, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Rov Mead, DeLand; Mrs. Margaret Frick, Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Roy Robinson, Gillette, Wyo.; and Mrs. Lois Hoppes, Belmont, Ks.; four sons, Bob Partington, DeLand; Carl Bowen and Allyson Bowen, DeLand; and Ronnie Bowen, Inman; three brothers, Clarence, Fay, and Lyle, Sterling; 33 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Fay and Clarence flew to DeLand to attend the funeral of their brother on Friday. A memorial service, with Rev. Ray Bressler in charge, was held in the United Methodist Church Friday afternoon.
