J.W. Windland, 79, prominent farmer of Davidson's Ridge, died very suddenly Sunday morning about 4:00 o'clock. It is reported that he developed pneumonia following a heat stroke on Tuesday before.
He is survived by his widow and seven children, five sons and two daughters as follows:
William Winland of Parkersburg; Herbert Winland of Barlow, Ohio; Charles of Guysville, O.; Hartsel of Coolville, O.; Okey at home; Mrs. C.W. Markley, Asheville, O., and Mrs. Olive Lockhart of Parkersburg; twenty-five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral was held from the Two Runs Baptist Church Tuesday morning, July 29th, with Rev. A.F. Monroe officiating.
Interment was made in the church cemetery with W.M. Pomroy undertaker in charge.
