Gary L. Christopher March 1, 1935 - January 17, 2009 Gary L. Christopher passed away peacefully on January 17, 2009 at Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 73 years old. Gary was born in Hoisington, KS where he attended Hoisington High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Mary (Ryan) Christopher and seven brothers and sister. Gary married Judy Thompson on April 11, 1980. Gary worked in a variety of areas of the oil industry in Saudi Arabia, Libya, Malta, Egypt, Abu Dhabi, and within the western United States. He also worked in geothermal drilling in Mexico and Indonesia. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He his survived by his wife, Judy of Grand Junction, CO; three sons, Rick Christopher of Great Bend, KS; Craig (Mary) Christopher of Silver Lake, KS; Brent (Shauna) Christopher of Shawnee, KS; two daughters, Karen Boese of Wichita, KS; Karla (Charles) Willis of Houston, TX; three step-sons, Shane (Kari) Thompson of Las Vegas, NV; Brian Thompson and David Thompson both of Grand Junction, CO; 16 grandchildren and two great grandsons. A memorial service will take place at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. A memorial service is also being planned in Hoisington, KS. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Callahan-Edfast.
