Born in Huntington, he was Head Accountant at Transport Motor Express for 32 years, retiring in 1979 and an Army Staff Sergeant during WWII. He was a member of American Legion Post #47, the VFW and Masonic Lodge #515 in Churubusco.
Survivors include one son, Brian Bowers of Columbia City; daughter, Roxanne Schulze of Houston, TX; sister, Marian Williams of Clearwater, FL; grandson, Sylas Bowers and granddaughter, Amanda Schmidt, both of Fort Wayne; preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Rosevear and Helen Hartwine.
Services 11 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Calling 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Masonic Service at 7:30pm. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Graveside Military Rites conducted by American Legion Post #47.
