Anna was a daughter of Obadiah and Rebecca Ayers. She married William Stephens on 14 August 1797 and they had the following children:

Mary Stephens, married Charles Moore.
Benjamin Stephens, married Sarah Russell then Lydia Root.
Obadiah Stephens, married Sarah Chapman, then Amelia Stephens.
Martha Ann Stephens, married Philip Lee, then William Bennett.
Mordecai H. Stephens, married Phebe Upson.
Rebecca Stephens, married Seth Beckwith.
William B. Stephens, married Lydia Abbe.
John Stephens, died in infancy.
Uriah Stephens, married Lydia Beckwith, then Martha J. Carman.

Anna (Ayers) Stephens died in 1847 and her husband was remarried in 1848 to her widowed sister, Jemima (Ayers) Otto.
