FOREST CITY - Mr. Oscar Horace Hudson, 78, of 134 Hall Street, died Saturday Oct. 25, 2008, at Autumn Care Center.
A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late J.C. and Mira Jane Hudson. He was a former long-time member of Alexander Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher and was a current member of Florence Baptist Church. He retired from Stonecutter Mills as lab supervisor after 40 years service and was an Army veteran serving as a Corporal with the Field Hospital General Dispensary in Germany from 1954 to 1956.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Summey Hudson and Memory Hudson; and sisters, Hattie Morris, Dora Heffner, Ruby Cox and Frances Burgin.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Butler Hudson of the home; son, Brian Todd Hudson and wife, Kara, of Kings Mountain; daughter, Keely Hudson Condrey and husband, Jeff, of Forest City; four grandchildren, Clint Condrey, Caleb Condrey, Colby Condrey and Ally Hudson; and an expected grandchild, Alayna Hudson to arrive in December of this year; two brothers, Marvin Hudson of Bonita Springs, Fla., and John Hudson of Charlotte.
Funeral: Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2 p.m., Florence Baptist Church
Visitation: The family received friends on Monday at The Padgett and King Mortuary.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard
