Lois Elizabeth Johnson passed away at the age of 89 years and 5 months. She was a resident of DeRidder, La; where she lived for the past 51 years. She passed from this life on October 30, 2011 at Westwood Manor Nursing Home in DeRidder, La. She went peacefully in her sleep.
She was born on May 30, 1922 in Leesville, La. Her parents were John E. Herring and Nancy Catherine Ellis Herring of Hornbeck, La. She had eight siblings. She was married to Ervin Alvie Johnson (Jimmie), and spent her life as a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Johnson was a proud member of First Baptist Church of DeRidder, La.
Mrs. Johnson was survived by her three sons; one daughter and husband of Flower Mound, Texas. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a sister of DeRidder, La.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ervin A. Johnson, her parents and seven siblings.
Services were Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Hixson
Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La., her son, Johnny Johnson officiated. Burial followed in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, La. Pallbearers were Jeff Johnson, Mark Johnson, Tim Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Matthew Wear and Jeremy Wear.
Hixson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
