Dennis D. Rhodes, age 61, of New Bloomfield, Missouri' departed this life Saturday October 29, 2011 at Capital Region Medical Center, Jeffer City, Missouri in the presence of his family.
Dennis was born December 1, 1949 in Mexico, Missouri, the son of Woodford R. "Dusty" and Dixie (Jones) Rhodes.
Dennis was an motorcycle rider, he rode all across the nation living life to its fullest. He was a member of the Blue Knights out of Columbia, Missouri, Freedom of Road Rides local #10 of Jefferson City, Missouri and the Civic Assn. of New Bloomfield, Missouri. He was a member of Dry Fork Baptist Church in Guthrie, Missouri.
Dennis worked for the Kansas City, Missouri Police Dept for five years where he was the KCPD officier whose life was saved by a bullet prof vest. He went to work for the Capital Police in 1983 serving at the Governors Mansion. He retired at the early age of 55 in 2005. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother; children, Deanna Norris and husband, Doug and Natalie Pool and husband, Eric of Kansas City MoMissouri, Nicholle Rhodes, Raquel Castrop and husband, Patrict and Jeffrey Rhodes and wife, Jessica all of Jefferson City, Missouri; seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday November 2, 2011 at Dry Fork Baptist Church in Guthie with Reverend Doctor Lewis Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in Dry Fork Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 1. 2011 at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, Missouri.
In lieu of customary memorials the family suggests donations be made in Dennis name to Dry Fork Cemetery.
