WILLIAM B. HARD
Long & Well-Known and Respected Citizen of Shaftsbury
William B. Hard a highly respected citizen of South Shaftsbury, died at his late home Monday, Feb. 23, having been in poor health for some time. The funeral was held from the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The body was placed in the vault at Park Lawn cemetery.
Mr. Hard was born at Arlington, Aug. 12, 1862, the only son of Cyrus S. Hard.
He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Sarina Carey; two daughters, Elizabeth and Carolyn; two sons, George V. of Springfield, Mass. and Cyrus P. of Pittsfield, Mass.; four sisters, Miss Mary W. Hard, Mrs. A.E. Buck, Mrs. Reuben Andrew, all of Arlington and Mrs. Leroy Beecher of New Haven.
Mr. Hard will be missed by a large number of friends in the community.
