James Patrick, as did some brothers and sisters, came to America in 1833 at the port of Charleston, SC. James lived in Charlotte, NC and tutored Anna Morrison, the future wife of Gen. Stonewall Jackson. From Charlotte he moved to Alabama and on to Enterprise, MS. James's parents were Anthony and Caroline Elizabeth Leighton Patrick. James married Louisa A. Patton, of SC, on 6-11-1851 in Marengo, AL. Children were Mary, Caroline, Elizabeth, William, Luella, Kate, James, William Patton, Robert, Mattie, Annie, and Moffat Patrick. James was a cotton broker in Mobile, AL.
