Leatha Rae Griffin was born to Robert and Florence(Thomas) TenCate on June 22,1950 in Pipestone, Minnesota. She moved around frequently with her family as she was growing up. Upon completion of her education, she moved to Michigan where she worked at Job Corps. Later she moved back to Pipestone where she met her future husband, Doug Griffin. They were united in marriage on August 23, 1978 in Sioux Falls,South Dakota. Following their marriage, they lived in Pipestone for a short time and then moved to Edgerton, Minnesota. They were blessed with three children. On August 11, 2010 she was admitted to Pipestone County Medical Center. She died of Cancer there on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the age of 60 years, one month, 23 days.
Leatha was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Edgerton. She enjoyed gardening, canning, motorcycling, and collecting salt and pepper shakers, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and dog "Paco".
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 32 years, Doug, two daughters; Candy (Mark) Englkes and Tara(Andy)Wiekeraad, six grandchildren; Tyler, Jackie, Ethan, Karstin, Kaylee, and Cody; two brothers; Robert (Bonnie)TenCate, Randall (Jean)TenCate, four sisters; Rhonda (Bob) Spencer, Aurora (David) Ankrum, Jana (Len) Roschen,and Renata Norgaard. Also, many other nieces, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son Scott, parents, brother-in-law David Norgaard, and niece Bobby Jo TenCate.
