MARGARET "MARGO" LUCILLE PITTMAN passed away at home with family by her side on October 27, 2011. She was 91 years old. Margo was born to Joe Bev and Lucille Mullen in the old First Ward in Houston. She grew up in Houston and graduated Jeff Davis High School. She went to work for Hughes Tool Company in 1941. She married her late husband Thomas Jefferson Pittman Jr. in 1949. Margo and T.J. moved to San Leon in 1952 and continued to commute to Houston to work. In 1958 their only child, Thomas Jefferson Pittman, III was born and Margo left Hughes Tool Company. She later went to work for Dickinson I.S.D. as a school secretary and worked there until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Dickinson, and a lifetime member of the San Leon Fire Department. Margo was preceded in death by her husband T.J. Pittman Jr., a brother Joe Bev Mullen, Jr. and sister, Mildred Mullen. Her survivors are her son, Thomas Jefferson Pittman, III. And his wife, Nita; grandson, Thomas Jefferson Pittman, IV, brother, Ellis W. Mullen and wife, Margaret; and several cousins, nieces, and a nephew. Special thanks to her dear friends Barbara and Doris and the Texas City Hospice Care for their care and support. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8: p.m. Tuesday, November 01, 2011 at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 02, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Dickinson with interment following at San Leon Cemetery in San Leon.
