Howard Arthur Kinley, 83, of Ripley, departed this life on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born January 27, 1927 in North Carolina, son of the late Everett and Dessie Bennett Kinley. He was an Army Veteran of WW-II having served in Italy. He worked in the mining industry his entire life, rising through the ranks from coal miner to mine superintendent. Surviving are his wife, Geneva Kinley of Ripley, one daughter, Fran Beatty of Maryland, one son, Franco Kinley of Italy. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Connie Hatcher of Ripley, Teddy Halstead of Rock Creek and Shirl Talbott of California, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters and one step-son, John Keith Halstead.
