Kay Murphy Clark, 71, of Morganton, NC went to meet her heavenly Father on Friday, October 28, 2011. Born in McDowell County, NC on November 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Fred Gerald Murphy and Ruth Irene Jones Carter. Kay attended Asheville Street Baptist Church and retired from Broughton Hospital. She loved to play bingo and bowl.

Kay is survived by her sons, John Clark and Danny Clark, both of Connelly Springs, and Jeff Clark and wife, Tammy, of Morganton; a daughter, Crickett Ray of Morganton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Murphy of Morganton; a sister, Kathleen Spicka and friend, Rick Reese, of Morganton; three nieces; and her former husband, Homer Clark, and wife, Carolyn.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Murphy.

A celebration of Kay's life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Burean Clark officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
