After his divorce after 24 years of marriage, he met a 28-year-old, Nanette Johnston, and they were engaged. Nanette and her boyfriend at the time, Eric Naposki, have been accused of murdering Mr. McLaughlin for his money. Naposki was found guilty of murder. Nanette's trial is set to begin in November, 2011. As a postscript, she was also found guilty.
