Otry T. Southern, 76, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, in Fayetteville. He was born May 21, 1929, in Kinta, Okla. A retired heavy equipment operator and coal miner, a 32nd degree Mason, an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church and the widower of the late Ruth Southern.
Private family memorial service will be held. Cremation under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by four daughters, Debra Rice of Lincoln, Karen R. Strunk and Luann Acord, both of Fort Smith, and Tammy Hull of Cowlington, Okla.; two brothers, Jerry Southern of Checotah, Okla., and Hugh Southern of Muskogee, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Cliff Baptist Church.
