DIED AT DEERFIELD
Mrs. Letetia Jones, Mother of Mrs. Mary Smith, Aged 89 Years, Died Yesterday Morning at 10.
Mrs. Letitia Jones, aged 89 years, mother of Mrs. Mary F. Smith, died at her daughter's home at Deerfield at 10:00 yesterday morning. Mrs. Jones had suffered jaundice and owing to her advanced age her death was not unexpected.
She was born in Shelby county, Kentucky, February 9, 1832, and was 89 years, 4 months and 7 days of age. Since youth, she had been a member of the Baptist church. The family had lived on their present farm for two years. They came to Deerfield from Warrensburg, Missouri.
Mrs. Jones is survived by four children: Dr. Olee Jones, Ft. Worth, Texas; W. P. Jones, Ballinger, Tex.; Joe P. Jones, Glencoe, Ky.; and Mrs. Mary F. Smith, Deerfield, Mo.
The funeral services were held today at 2:30 o'clock from the Smith home, conducted by Rev. M. O. Wolfe, of the Baptist church. The body will be taken to Campbellsburg, Ky., for burial in the family lot.
The remains of Mrs. Jones were brought to Fort Scott late this afternoon and taken to the Konantz Mortuary. The body will be shipped tonight over the M. K. & T. to Campbellsburg, Ky., accompanied by Mrs. Smith and Dr. Olee Jones of Fort Worth, Texas.
