Larry Dale Curry, 74, of Effingham died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 3:05 a.m. at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Private family visitation will be held with burial to follow at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to The Cross or to the donor's choice.
Larry was born on April 26, 1937 in Vandalia the son of Dale and Hilda Rubin (Curry). He married Berta Lynn Smith on January 22, 1957 and the love of his life preceded him in death on March 9, 2011. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a Mid Continent Division Superintendent with Exxon Corporation before his retirement. He was a member and deacon of the First Christian Church, Effingham, had been a Cross volunteer, and was a member of the Effingham RC Sport Flyers.
Larry is survived by his son, Scott (Karen) Curry of Jonesville, Michigan, daughter, Regina Curry of Effingham, Brothers, Phil (Pat) Curry of Decatur, and Ronnie (Lynn) Curry of Spring, Texas, Sister, Ruth Ann (John) Moyer of Vandalia, and one granddaughter, Jessica (Zachary) Bigelow of Hillsdale, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Dolores.
