Funeral services were held Friday, October 28, 2011 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Monroe McPhail, Jr., age 71, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on October 26, 2011 at JDCH Extended Care Facility in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Dublin Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.
Rev. L. C. Anthony and Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Rev. Tommy Broom, Dale Holmes, Zack McPhail, Roby Eure, Gerald Fulcher and Carroll McPhail.
Born in Jefferson Davis County, Monroe McPhail Jr. was born on December 24, 1939. He was the son of Monroe McPhail Sr. and Bertha Whitehead McPhail. He worked as a supervisor for the rock crushing plant in Brookhaven. He also worked as a Jefferson Davis County Constable and a farmer. He was a member of Dublin Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara McPhail of Carson, MS; his son, Ricky McPhail of Purvis, MS; his daughter, Diane Fulcher of Carson, MS; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Farnham of Laurel, MS; and three brothers, Thomas McPhail, R. T. McPhail and Otho McPhail all of Carson, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
