Julia Kathryn, daughter of James Samuel and Elizabeth Saunders, was born in Shelby County, Mo., Nov. 16, 1877, and departed this life July 27, 1946, at her home in Maywood at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 11 days. She united with the North River Baptist Church, in Shelby County, at an early age and lived a consistent Christian life, attending church services regularly as long as her health permitted. She was married to George Tuley in 1916, who passed away in 1934. She came moved to Maywood in 1938 to make her home, and in 1941 was united in marriage to John Y. Birchfield.
