SSGT Robert P. Porras USAF (Ret.), 92, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009, in San Antonio. He was born in Brownsville, TX, on February 8, 1917, to Ufrano and Narcisa Porras. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Ysidra, who passed away in 1961. Survivors include his wife, Maria Magdalena Porras; children, Maria Angelina Strothman and husband Ronald of San Antonio, Arthur M. Porras and wife Kathy, Adrian T. Porras and wife Diane of Denver, CO, Adam M. Porras and wife Jacque of Ft. Worth, Ricardo A. Gamez and wife Rosalie of Houston, and Margarita Erhardt of Austin; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Edmundo P. Porras of San Antonio; sister, Manuela P. Garza of San Antonio; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
