Marguerite Dorothy Esse, age 95 of Austin, died Wednesday morning October 26, 2011 at Our House Memory Care.
Marguerite Dorothy Fischer was born August 10, 1916 to Frederick and Petra (Martin) Fischer in Austin where she grew up and graduated from Austin High School in 1934. She worked at JC Penney in the women's dress department. On October 9, 1937, she married Ellsworth Esse at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. They made their home in Austin where she took care of her parents. An active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Marguerite volunteered in WELCA, donut making and many other activities. She also enjoyed square dancing. They moved to Primrose Apartments in 2003, and in 2005 Marguerite moved to Our House Senior Living. Ellsworth passed away on August 6, 2007.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Dorothy Fischer of Bloomington; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Petra Fischer; her husband, Ellsworth; brothers, Clyde, Nathan and Wilbur Fischer, as well as one in infancy; sisters, LaVonne Nelson, Ruth Gibson and Viola Sucha.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2011 at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin with Associate in Ministry, Todd Portinga officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
