Rosalynn "Rosie" Jergens, 72, of Michigan City passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. at her home in Michigan City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of All Saints Church with the Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:15 - 10:00 a.m. at Queen of All Saints Church.

A wake service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home.

Rosie was born January 3, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Gus and Louise (Osterwald) Berger.

On October 12, 1957 in Michigan City at St. Mary's Church she married John "Jack" Jergens who is surviving in Michigan City.

Also surviving are two daughters: Kelly Samford of Michigan City and Shannon (Richard) Thalmann of Westville, IN; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one brother: Fred Berger of Florida.

Preceding her in death is one sister: Millie Lloyd and one brother Robert Steer.

Rosie for twenty-two years ran the credit department at Sears and then worked for Filter Specialists for nine years.

She was a member of Queen of All Saints Church, Women of the Moose Chapter #935 and Pioneer Auto Association in South Bend. She loved music, dancing, cooking, baking, gardening and refinishing furniture.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Research or Michiana Humane Society.
