Pernau, John W. Jr., "Bill", 80, of Richland Twp. Died September 2, 2011, at Arbutus Manor. Born May 22, 1931, in Johnstown. Son of the late John W. Sr. and Osa (Swift) Pernau. Survived by wife of 57 years, the former Martha A. (Haywood) Pernau; and these children: Lee Ann, wife of James J. Langham, Fredericksburg, VA; and John A., married to the former Gay (Pilon), Keyser, WV.; Grandchildren, Benjamin Langham, Anthony and Dylan Pernau. Korea and Vietnam Army Veteran serving for 40 years with the U.S. Army and Pa. National Guard with the rank of SSM. Retired from the drafting Dept., Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. Member of Faith Chapel where he served as an Elder. Founding member of Western Pa. E.S.G.R. where he received the Seven Seals Award, being the only individual to receive this honor. Also member of Menoher Post #155 V.F.W. Ritual Team. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday September 11, 2011, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Service will be held 11 am Monday September 12, 2011, at Faith Chapel, 730 Sunberry St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904 Rev. Andrew Taylor, Pastor and Rev. Carl Irwin, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery with military rites by Menoher Post #155 V.F.W. Ritual Team.
