After the death of Agnes Black's husband, William Black in 1862, it is listed in the Yuba County Marriage Records that on 11-12-1869 Agnes married William Mawson. The 1870 Butte Township, Colusa County census shows Mr Mawson was a farmer, born in England and that Agnes and her children with William Black are living there too.
The Burial Book on page 47 shows that Agnes is buried under the name of Mawson, but on the headstone as Agnes Black.
