Major League Baseball Player. Harry Hanebrink spent parts of 4 seasons in the Major Leagues, 3 with the Milwaukee Braves and 1 with the Philadelphia Phillies. A US Navy veteran of World War 2, he made his debut on May 3rd, 1953, appearing in 51 games, mostly as a utility infielder/outfielder. He went back to the minors in 1954 and did not get back to the parent club until 1957, where he had a brief 6 game stint. In 1958 he again made the Braves Roster, appearing in a career high 63 games. He also had 2 at bats in that years World Series against the Yankees, going 0-2. He was traded by Milwaukee along with Gene Conley and Joe Koppe to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for Eddie O'Brien, Ted Kazanski and Stan Lopata on March 31, 1959. 1959 would prove to be his final year in the Majors. After his career was over, he was a real estate broker with Dolan Realtors of St. Louis for 20 years, then was a shuttle bus driver at Lambert Field from 1993 until his death from a brain aneurysm. Over the course of 177 league games, he accrued a lifetime average of .224 with 6 homers and 25 RBI's in 317 at bats.
