Long-time Sunnyvale resident passed away surrounded by family on October 25, 2011 after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.
Edith was born on December 3, 1949 in Consolacion Cebu, Philippines. She was the third born of Andres and Lorenza Rojas' twelve children. She was a high achiever earning valedictorian every year from elementary school until college, where she received her BA in Education with honors. She immigrated to California in 1971 and in 1976 married the love of her life [redacted for privacy]. The newlyweds settled in Sunnyvale CA and raised four children.
She was passionate about her nursing career, receiving her CNA and RN certification, and earned her BS in Nursing and MS in Nurse Administration both at San Jose State University. She worked as a Nurse Manager for the Veterans Administration at Palo Alto. Edith was known for her strong Catholic faith, and complete devotion to her family and friends. Her generous spirit and beautiful smile uplifted the lives of those she touched, and she will greatly be missed.
She was predeceased by her parents and her son Andrew Lombard. She is survived by her loving husband and companion of 35 years, [redacted]; loving mother of [redacted; 2 sons & 1 daughter]; proud grandmother of [redacted; 2 total]; and beloved by her very large extended family.
Friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 5:30 p.m at LIMA CAMPAGNA SUNNYVALE MORTUARY, 1315 Hollenbeck Ave., Sunnyvale.
