Teacher, Minister's Wife, Beloved Mother.

Barbara Nell Bratton Creamer passed away after an extended illness on Oct. 8, 2011, in Norwalk, Calif. She was 81 years old.

Barbara was born on May 23, 1930. Her childhood was spent in the farm country of central Texas, near Waldrip, where her father owned a farm and operated a general store. She was part of a large extended family whose love and values she credited with giving her strength throughout her life.

Barbara graduated in 1951 from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, with a degree in religious education. There she met and married Donald D. Creamer. Together they worked at the Haines House school for children in Alaska, spent several years while Don was in seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, and then over a period of 12 years served as pastor and wife at the LaPorte Presbyterian Church of Fort Collins, Colo., the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Prescott, Ariz., and the First Presbyterian Church of Plano, Texas.

Barbara had a lifelong love for children and of teaching. She obtained a master's degree in education from Northern Arizona University, and taught a generation of Prescott's kindergarteners at Taylor Hicks School from 1972 to 1988. She was also a busy piano teacher.

At the age of 58, she had the courage to travel overseas to begin a new chapter of her life teaching for the Department of Defense schools in Germany. This made it possible for her to fulfill her cherished dreams of traveling throughout Europe and to Egypt. She lived this dream for seven years.

Barbara believed in living to the fullest regardless of adversity, and she took endless delight in the company of those she loved. She was a champion of family, a history buff and a would-be scientist, especially in regard to archeology and physics. She found life fascinating, and imparted a vital sense of that to those around her. She had a wry, understated sense of humor and found much to laugh about even in her final days.

She is survived by her five children, D. Jeffrey Creamer of Buena Park, Calif., Scott Joyce (Toni) of Albuquerque, N.M., Janna Creamer of Prescott, Ariz., Dawn Mitchell of Prescott, and Nancy Armstrong (Rand) of Prescott; her seven grandchildren, Annie Sharp, Lindsay Branquinho, Holly Favour, Kati Mitchell, Emily Armstrong, Carolyn Funkhouser and Daniel Kramer; and her four great-grandchildren, Ella Jayne Sharp, Weston Sharp, Cade Branquinho and Jameson Branquinho.

The memorial service for Barbara will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., Prescott. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to the Save the Children foundation, www.savethechildren.org. "Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation."

Barbara's ashes will be buried at a later date at the Marion Lohn Cemetery in Lohn, Texas, next to her parents Thomas Jefferson Bratton and Annie May Bradley Bratton, in the cemetery where all of her Grandparents, Parents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins are buried.
She will be with her family once again!

June 23, 2012, Barbara's ashes were brought home to rest with her family at Marion Cemetery in Lohn Texas. Scott Creamer lead the family through a Presbyterian graveside
service and everyone sang Amazing grace. The family then departed for Lohn, Tx, where everyone gathered and had a true Texas B.B.Q. with all the fixings. Everyone visited with one another and looked a pictures from past reunions.
The Bratton family is glad to have Barbara back where she belongs, with her family.
