Andrew C. Thomas, 93 of Brazil passed away May 4, 2007 at 5:29pm at St. Vincent Clay Hospital. He had been a resident of Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility for the past year.

He was born June 6, 1913 in Putnam County the son of Paul Thomas and Blanche Dillinger Thomas. April 5, 1936 he married Lola Myers Thomas. She preceded him in death February 1, 2003.

Andrew was one of the oldest members of the McKinley Hill Church of Christ. He loved the church and was an active member for over 80 years.

His chosen profession was that of a carpenter. He worked for Pell's Roofing and Siding, Emmert Construction and also worked from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union. One of the accomplishments he made as a carpenter was the construction of the Meis Store at Honey Creek Square.

Andrew was a member of the Farm Bureau since 1954 and had served as the President of Farm Bureau, Van Buren Township. He was a devoted member of the Brazil Senior Citizens for over 26 years. He served on the Board of the center and was the gentleman who always saw to the delivery of the "day old bread" to those in need.

He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man, who loved his church, his family and his friends.

Survivors include his son Raymond and wife Nancy of Brazil; grandchildren, Evon Thomas, Amber Thomas, Anthony Thomas and Victoria Boyd; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Brown of Nashville, TN and Ethel Plyier of Alabama; many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lola Thomas; one son Norman Ray Thomas; one granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Thomas; one sister Mary Boyd; two brothers Arthur Thomas and Loy Thomas.


Funeral Information
Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at McKinley Hill Church of Christ with Brother Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 9-11:00.
